Pasture-Raised Eggs From a Family Farm That Puts Animals, Land, and People First
Share
Not every egg earns your trust. Some look pale, some break too easily, and some taste like…nothing. A lot of labels say “natural” or “free range,” but when you check what that really means, it’s not much.
At Misty Meadows Organics, we raise organic pasture raised eggs the right way—on real grass, in fresh air, with plenty of space to roam. Our farm is small, family-run, and proud to do things by hand and by heart.
We started in Everson, Washington. But now, you can find our organic free range eggs across the country.
We raise healthy chickens and ducks with care, because food should be honest. And you should know exactly what’s behind every shell.
What Makes Pasture-Raised Different?
According to the USDA “free range” eggs are produced by chickens and ducks with access to the outdoors. However, there are no requirements regarding the size and condition of the outdoor space. For many, the term free range has lost its meaning.
At Misty Meadows, we consider our eggs pasture-raised. From the moment our chickens are old enough to venture into the grass, they consistently have access to spacious green pastures. Our chickens love pecking through the grass for bugs and snacking on wild plants.
That’s the difference. Our birds don’t “access” the outdoors. They live in it.
Our chickens and ducks spend their days exploring open pastures. They dig through soil, chase bugs, snack on wild greens, and rest under the sun. We give them real space, because animals stay healthier when they’re active and calm.
This isn’t a checkbox. It’s a standard. And you’ll notice the difference in every chicken egg and duck egg—richer yolks, stronger shells, and flavor that actually tastes like something.
The Proof Is in Every Cracked Shell
The best proof of how we farm? Crack open one of our eggs.
You’ll see it right away… a thick shell, a bright orange yolk, and a clean, rich smell. That’s not just luck. It’s the result of giving our chickens and ducks what they actually need to thrive.
Real Foraging, Real Food
Our birds don’t just sit in a barn. They move, they scratch, they explore. Chickens and ducks are natural foragers. Their instincts tell them to search, dig, and peck at the ground, and we make sure they can do exactly that.
We don’t dump gravel into their feed bins like some industrial farms. Instead, they get their grit the way nature intended: straight from the ground. Tiny stones, bits of dirt, and natural minerals from the soil help them digest their food and absorb nutrients. That’s how they stay strong and balanced.
Their main source of nutrition doesn’t come from a warehouse bag, it comes from the land. They eat:
- Fresh grass
- Wild plants
- Seeds
- Worms and insects
- Organic, whole-grain supplemental feed (when needed)
This varied, natural diet builds stronger eggs and healthier birds.
The Science Is on Our Side
This isn’t just something we say. It’s backed by real data.
A study from Mother Earth News, which included Misty Meadows eggs, showed that organic pasture-raised eggs consistently outperform conventional ones in nutrition. Here’s what they found:
- Less cholesterol
- Less saturated fat
- 2–3 times more omega-3 fatty acids
- More vitamin A and E
- More beta carotene
These are the building blocks of a better egg. And they only show up when birds are raised the right way — with fresh air, a clean pasture, and space to roam.
What Customers Say
You don’t have to run lab tests to notice the difference. Most people can tell the second they crack one open.
Our customers talk about:
- Yolks that glow golden-orange
- Whites that hold together in the pan
- Shells that are hard to break but easy to trust
- A taste that’s clean, rich, and full
They cook better, hold more flavor, and leave people feeling good about what they’re eating and what they’re supporting.
So yes, our eggs cost more than a generic dozen in a foam carton. But they’re worth it — and you can see, feel, and taste why with every cracked shell.
Regenerative Methods. Smart Composting. Zero Pesticides - Better Farming Starts Below the Surface
We don’t just raise chickens and ducks. We manage land, protect our wetlands, and keep our soil alive. Every choice we make on the farm considers both today and tomorrow.
We are proud to be a Sustainable Connections Eat Local First business. As a small farm sitting on top of protected wetlands, it’s essential for us to use sustainable farming practices.
We rotate our pastures so the grass regrows and the soil rests. We avoid chemicals. We compost our birds’ waste instead of letting it run into waterways.
And our compost system does double-duty, it breaks down waste and creates heat. Our coops don’t need electricity or gas heating unless the weather drops below 20°F. That’s a clean, smart cycle that keeps energy use low and waste near zero.
Our egg cartons are made from 100% recycled cardboard. We reuse supplies, share tools with other small farms, and make sure nothing gets tossed that could still serve a purpose.
We also sell family-grade and jumbo chicken eggs and duck eggs, ones that don’t fit standard packaging, to local customers at lower prices. Other farms throw them out. We don’t believe good food should go to waste.

Organic Pasture Raised Eggs. Grown With Integrity.
Farming always creates waste. We don’t pretend it doesn’t. But we’ve built a loop where almost nothing goes unused.
We compost our bedding and waste to warm our barns and feed our soil. We reuse supplies. We keep packaging simple and recyclable. We sell the “ugly eggs” instead of trashing them.
It’s not a marketing strategy. It’s just how we think a farm should work—clean, honest, and efficient.
Why Misty Meadows Eggs Stand Out
These organic pasture raised eggs don’t come from cramped barns or conveyor belts. They don’t rely on fancy labels or vague claims. There’s nothing hidden.
They come from chickens and ducks raised with respect.
From land that stays protected.
From a farm that does the work by hand, with pride.
That’s why we’re trusted by families, chefs, and health-conscious eaters who know the difference. Because when food is grown with integrity, it shows.
