Misty Meadows Community: Where Good Food and Good People Meet

Misty Meadows Community: Where Good Food and Good People Meet

We don’t just sell eggs. We raise them with purpose.

Misty Meadows Organics grows pasture-raised chicken and duck eggs with real care. No chemicals. No shady practices. Just honest farming and clean food raised the way it should be.

We’re rooted in Southwest Washington, but our eggs are showing up on plates across the country. More and more families are skipping store brands and coming straight to us, because they want food with meaning. Food they can trust.

We serve small towns, big cities, and everything in between. Whether you're a local in Grays Harbor County or ordering from a few states away, we’re here to bring you something better.

We Pay More for Eggs Than Ever. But What Are We Getting?

Egg prices have hit record highs. In January 2025, the average price for a dozen eggs was $4.95. A month later, it jumped to $5.90, and by March 5, it reached $8.64… the highest it’s ever been in the U.S.

Some folks blame inflation or supply chain messes left over from the pandemic. But the biggest cause is bird flu. The H5N1 strain started spreading in 2022 and hasn’t slowed down. It’s aggressive and deadly, and it's wiped out tens of millions of birds. That means fewer eggs and sky-high prices.

Even when you can find eggs at the store, they’re not what they used to be. Most are laid by chickens packed into giant barns with no fresh air or sunlight. These eggs are trucked across the country, sitting on shelves for days or weeks. By the time they hit your pan, they’re dull in flavor, thin-shelled, and flat in color.

Our Farm-Fresh Eggs Are Different

You get a thick shell, a deep orange yolk, and a flavor that stands out without saying a word. Our chickens scratch in real dirt. They breathe fresh air. They eat bugs, seeds, grass, and quality feed. They’re not stuck in cages—they live like chickens are supposed to.

We also raise ducks, who get the same level of care. They rotate through pastures and stay clean, calm, and active. Duck eggs have bigger yolks, more nutrients, and a rich taste people love—especially bakers. They’re also a great option for folks with chicken egg allergies.

And if you're tired of grocery stores saying “pasture-raised” when it's really just a bigger barn, we get it. That’s why we show our work, in person, online, and in every egg we pack.

How We Farm

We don’t follow trends. We follow what works… for the animals, the land, and the people who eat what we grow.

At Misty Meadows, farming is hands-on, thoughtful, and rooted in real care. Every part of our setup is done with purpose. From the layout of our pastures to the way we rotate flocks, we farm slow and smart. That’s what makes the difference in the eggs and in the soil under our boots.

Pasture Comes First

Our chickens and ducks live on real pastures. That means wide open space, fresh air, and clean grass under their feet.

We don’t crowd them into barns or put them on concrete. They scratch at the ground, chase bugs, take dust baths, and soak up the sun. When one patch gets worn down, we move them to a fresh one. It gives the grass time to regrow and the animals a clean place to live.

We do this year-round. Rain or shine, we make sure they’re protected from weather but never stuck indoors without choice. They decide when to roam, when to rest, and when to lay. It makes them healthier. And it makes their eggs stronger, richer, and better tasting.

Feed and Water Matter

Even with access to pasture, we supplement their diet with certified organic feed. No GMOs. No soy. No weird additives. Just clean, whole ingredients that give them the protein and nutrients they need.

Water is fresh and checked daily. In winter, we keep it from freezing. In summer, we make sure it stays clean and cool. We don’t take shortcuts here because animals can’t speak up when something’s off, so we make sure nothing ever is.

Clean Coops and Rotating Schedules

We clean out coops regularly and use deep bedding methods that compost naturally over time. The bedding gets reused on our fields, adding nutrients back into the soil. Nothing goes to waste.

Our flock rotation schedule is based on rest and recovery, for both the birds and the land. We don’t keep animals in one spot long enough to exhaust it. That helps break pest cycles, keeps stress low, and keeps things moving smoothly.

Hands-On, Every Day

We don’t just manage the farm. We live on it. We walk the fields, check the fencing, refill feeders, collect eggs by hand, and monitor our animals with our own eyes. We don’t rely on automation to tell us what’s going on. We see it ourselves.

That kind of daily care adds up. It means we catch problems early, make better decisions, and stay connected to every part of the farm. And that shows up in the quality of the food we sell.

This is small-scale farming done right, not rushed, not outsourced, not hidden behind doors.

We believe that if you raise animals right and treat the land with respect, the food will speak for itself. That’s how we farm. And we’re proud of it.

Our System Works Because It’s Simple

We don’t load up on antibiotics. We don’t add fillers. We don’t bleach our shells. And we never rush.

Our chickens and ducks are raised slowly, with purpose. It’s a full-circle setup that feeds the land as well as the animals.

We sort and pack every egg by hand. We check each one. That takes time—but it’s worth it.

This Is What Honest Food Looks Like.

Our eggs don’t come in bleached, identical cartons. You get a mix, blue, brown, speckled. The kind of eggs that remind you where food actually comes from.

And we keep our flocks small so we can care for them properly. We know every field, every fence, every path. That kind of attention shows up in the quality of what we sell.

Here’s what you get when you buy eggs from Misty Meadows:

  • Pasture-Raised Organic Eggs: Our hens roam freely on open pasture. The result? Clean, strong-shelled eggs with deep orange yolks.
  • Rich, Creamy Duck Eggs: Ideal for baking or allergy-friendly diets. More flavor, more nutrition, and a smooth texture people love.
  • No Chemicals. No Antibiotics. No Shortcuts.: We keep it simple and clean. No fake enrichments, no fillers… just real food from healthy birds.
  • Soil-First Farming: We give back to the land. Composting, rotating, and feeding the soil so it stays alive and healthy.
  • A Team You Can Count On: Got a question? We’re here. We know our flock, walk our land, and stand behind everything we sell.

Our Farm, Our Community

We don’t farm for shareholders. We farm for people.

Our customers are the folks we bump into at the feed store, the farmers market, and the local café. They’re families with picky toddlers, bakers who need reliable yolks, and people who just want better breakfast food.

We don’t throw the word "community" around for clicks. It’s something we live every day.

When we pack eggs, we know who’s getting them. That makes us work harder and better.

Growing Beyond the Pacific Northwest

We started small, right here in Grays Harbor County, serving local towns across South Washington. But now, through our shipping program and growing network, Misty Meadows eggs are reaching homes across the U.S.

We’ve expanded our shipping and wholesale partnerships, and we’re working with independent grocers, co-ops, and cafés across multiple states. Whether you’re in Spokane or San Antonio, you can taste the difference.

As demand grows, so does our capacity. But we’ll never grow too fast or too big to lose what makes this farm real.

This Isn’t Just a Farm. It’s a Community.

You don’t have to be a food expert to care where your eggs come from. If you want clean, honest food, you’re already part of our farm family.

Our customers are:

  • Parents feeding their kids
  • Seniors cooking meals they love
  • Bakers who care about texture and flavor
  • College students learning to eat better
  • People with food allergies
  • Other farmers who support local sourcing

Some pick up from the farm. Others shop online. A few get our eggs at the Saturday market. However you find us, we’re glad you did.

And if you follow us on Instagram, you already know our chickens, ducks, and farmers aren’t just faces behind the food. They’re part of the story.

Honest Eggs. Real Food. Zero Gimmicks.

We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We show what works. We talk about what doesn’t. We listen. And we keep going.

You won’t find marketing tricks here. No pretty words slapped over broken systems. Just healthy animals, a hard-working team, and real food that tastes the way it should.

We don’t want to be the biggest egg farm. We want to be your favorite.
